Kimberly Galek

Kimberly Hase Galek is responsible for the creation and management of the Teacher Review Panel as well as leading the selection process for primary resources and connecting these resources to American Heritage articles and the Common Core State Standards. She has 20 years of experience as a teacher, school administrator and curriculum developer with organizations and schools in Washington, DC, New York State and Michigan. For the last five years, Kim has been one of the primary authors of the digital history curriculum for the Michigan Citizenship Collaborative Curriculum (MC3). Kim worked with hundreds of teachers to write, pilot, and edit the k-12 teaching units using current research about learning progressions and historical thinking. She has presented professional development programs to hundreds of teachers through her role as a History Consultant for the Macomb Intermediate School District (MI) and as a presenter the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference.
